Local Sea Cadets earn VFW award

SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Four local Sea Cadets, from the H.R. Doud Division in Saginaw, were awarded the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Naval Sea Cadet Award.

Recipients are CPO Jilee Mallard of Millington, PO1 Brianne Dybilas of Ubly, PO1 Holley Rochefort of Bad Axe and PO2 Alex Altergott of Bay City.

To qualify for the award, recipients must be in good standing academically, progressing satisfactorily in the Sea Cadet Program, demonstrate outstanding achievement in community service and NSCC naval education, demonstrate outstanding leadership in the Naval Sea Cadet Corps and must be of high moral character.
