A southeastern Michigan woman has received the mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole for throwing her 8-month-old son against a wall and killing him.
Twenty-two-year-old Delniece Williams of Harper Woods told Macomb County Circuit Judge James Biernat Jr. on Tuesday that she is "not taking full responsibility" for a crime she didn't commit. She says she isn't a monster, and the trial was unfair.
Authorities say Williams and her boyfriend brought her injured son George Wilburn Jr. to a hospital in October 2010. They say the baby had a broken skull and ribs and a bite mark.
On May 21, a jury in Mount Clemens convicted Williams of first-degree murder and child abuse.
