DETROIT, MI (AP) -
An event this week in Detroit aims to make thousands of jobs available to veterans.
The National Veteran Small Business Conference and Expo takes place Tuesday through Friday at downtown's Cobo Center.
The event includes networking and training for veteran-owned small businesses.
An open house will allow veterans to learn more about the benefits available to them and receive health screenings.
And the "VA for Vets Hiring Fair" will offer the chance at thousands of private sector or government jobs.
The events are sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
