A Detroit woman who gave birth days after police say she was abducted, set on fire and shot because her former boyfriend didn't want a child continues to recover from the attack.
Angela Beatty tells WXYZ-TV (http://bit.ly/MmfDga) in an interview broadcast Monday her daughter, Latonya Bowman, is recovering from injuries including second- and third-degree burns. The station reports Bowman is struggling with mobility and remains in pain following the May attack.
Bowman gave birth to a boy in an emergency cesarean section.
Police say the attack was a plot by Jamal Rogers, her former boyfriend, to have her killed because he didn't want another child.
Rogers and Antonio Mathis are charged. A hearing in Warren was rescheduled earlier this month to Thursday to give defense lawyers time to prepare.
