2 beaches in Bay County closed due to high bacteria counts

BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

WNEM.com is learning both Brissette Beach and South Linwood Beach in Bay County have been closed Tuesday.

The county's health department is closing the beach because water samples show both beaches exceed the state's "single-event water quality standard for total body contact recreational activities."

The closures notice will be lifted when bacteriological levels comply with the state of Michigan's water quality standard. If the public would like further details into the beach closures, they can do so by calling the health department at 989-895-4006.
