Softball tournament gets underway in Mount Pleasant Thursday

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

More than 130 teams are headed to Mid-Michigan for the Amateur Softball Association Girl's Softball State Championships on Thursday.

All team members are under the age of 18.

The tournament will take place in Mount Pleasant at Island Park, Pickens Fields, Mount Pleasant High School, Central Michigan University and a few other local fields.

The winners of each age group will go on to the Amateur Softball Association fast pitch tournament.
