GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
Customers in the hardest-hit areas following several days of thunderstorms and hot weather may not receive electrical service until Saturday or Sunday.
According to a news release issued by CMS Energy Corp., more than 90,000 of its customers were without power, including about 36,500 in the Flint area.
It says those customers, and others in Ingham and Clinton, may not have service until Sunday.
A majority of the other customers should expect to have power restored by late Friday.
DTE Energy Co. says about 210,000 of its customers were without power Thursday after a new round of damaging thunderstorms made its way across the state, knocking down trees and power lines.
Since Tuesday, DTE says about 300,000 of its customers have been affected. Restoration times for DTE customers have not been released.
The National Weather Service says wind gusts above 60 mph were reported as storms crossed the state.

Another hot and humid day was forecast, with highs in the 90s for Thursday and Friday.
Cooling centers are being opened in the hardest hit areas by the American Red Cross and emergency management agencies.
