HOUGHTON LAKE, Mich. (AP) - A funeral is planned Saturday for a 16-year-old boy who disappeared beneath the surface of Houghton Lake in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula.
The Roscommon County sheriff's department says Stephen Schrauben of the Clinton County community of Fowler was pulled from the water about an hour after he was reported missing Wednesday at the lake, about 50 miles southeast of Traverse City.
Rescuers were unsuccessful in their attempts to revive him.
The sheriff's department says Schrauben was visiting his family's cabin in the Houghton Lake area at the time.
The Lansing State Journal says visitation is Friday at Osgood Funeral Homes, and the funeral is a 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler.
