I-475 back open after flooding forces shutdown

Posted: Updated:
FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Interstate 475 in Genesee County is back open again after flooding forced areas of the roadway to be shutdown Thursday.

Power outages from the storms cut electricity to the pumps that keep water off of the highway between Bristol and Hemphill Roads.

The Michigan Department of Transportation had to use generators to get the pumps running again.

It was the second time this year that the stretch of roadway had been closed.

The first time was during those historic floods back in May.
