Grace WeckesserMIDLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
The Midland County Sheriff's office said a Thursday morning two-car crash in Midland Township resulted in the death of a Midland woman.
The fatal crash was reported at 9:47 a.m. at the intersection of Grey and Ashby roads in the township.
Deputies said Grace Ann Weckesser, 18, was traveling southbound on Grey Road in a 1998 Volkswagen Beetle. Investigators said her vehicle was struck at the intersection of Ashby Road by a 2007 Honda Odyssey driven by 48-year-old Suzanne Osterbrock of Freeland, which was eastbound on Ashby Road.
Police said Osterbrock was wearing a seatbelt and was evaluated at the scene by Mid-Michigan Medical Center EMS and released.
Deputies said it appears Weckesser was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by Midland County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. J. Daniel Cline.
This accident remains under investigation and alcohol or drug use is not suspected.
A check of Weckesser's Facebook profile states that she worked at Bob Evans and had recently graduated from H.H. Dow High School.
