Land bank hosts home tour

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Seven newly renovated homes are on display in Flint. The Genesee County Land Bank hosted its largest home tour yet.

The homes featured are 1659 Grand Traverse, 1602 Grand Traverse, 1646 Grand Traverse, 818 Lyon, 1606 Lyon, 1424 Garland, and 1638 Pontiac.

The Genesee County Land Bank is hosting this open house to show off the homes as part of a Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

The homes offer a new kitchen, new bathrooms, new appliances and security systems. Officials with the land bank say home-ownership can start with as little as $1,000 down. Most NSP renovated homes range in price from $20,000 to $50,000.

In March 2009, Genesee County was awarded $10.7 million in Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. To learn more about NSP or to see a current list of available properties, visit www.thelandbank.org.
