GRAND BLAC TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -
Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc is partnering with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan for a food giveaway this Saturday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Thousands of pounds of food, including canned and boxed goods, as well as a limited number of fresh and frozen items will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
No proof of income or need is required, but recipients must present a driver's license or other form of photo ID.
Last year, Holy Spirit distributed over 12,000 pounds of food to needy individuals and families.
In the words of Pastor Will Stenke, "Holy Spirit is glad to provide the assistance to those who are in need. The church sees these food distributions as a natural consequence of our mission to share God's love."
Additional food distributions are scheduled for the following Saturdays: Aug. 18, Sept. 15 and Oct. 6.
All are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. rain or shine.
