Discount grocer ALDI is hosting a hiring event Monday for its future Mount Pleasant location to offer local residents opportunities for employment.
The company said opportunities include cashiers and shift managers, with cashier pay starting at $10.50 per hour.
The event runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Comfort Inn at 2424 S. Mission Street. The shift manager positions pay $14.50 per hour and manager trainees with a starting pay of $21 per hour.
The ALDI store in Mount Pleasant is slated to open in December of this year.
Job Requirements:
• Must be 18 years or older to apply
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
• Retail experience preferred
• Management experience preferred for Manager Trainees
• Drug screening and background check
• Ability to lift 45 pounds
ALDI said it offers employees generous compensation that is well above the industry standard and that part time staff working at least 20 hours per week have access to full health insurance, dental coverage and 401K.
