ST. CHARLES, MI (WNEM) -

A 16-year-old boy is in custody after authorities said an alert citizen noticed something amiss at Bare's Sports Shop in St. Charles around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Saginaw County Sheriff's deputies were notified and tracked the suspect on foot. Deputies arrested the juvenile, and said they recovered 11 pistols. The teen is currently lodged at the Saginaw County Juvenile Facility.

Police said they are asking the prosecutor to charge the boy as an adult.

Authorities said the teen was injured when he cut himself on glass from an inside window of the store and left blood at the scene. Investigators would not release any further information due to the teen's juvenile status.

The sheriff's department held a news conference to discuss more details about the incident. They said the teen was arrested at his home outside St. Charles around 4:30 a.m. Police said during the conference that they believed the teen planned to resell the stolen weapons.
