Motorcycle crash closes section of Vets Bridge in Bay City

BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

The westbound lane of Veterans Memorial Bridge in Bay City was closed for several hours Thursday morning following a motorcycle crash.

It happened just after 4:30 a.m. near the Family Video, 411 South Henry St.

Police say the driver lost control through a turn and slid off the roadway into a guardrail. He was transported to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw with serious leg injuries.

The roadway reopened just after 6 a.m. Police said the driver was wearing a helmet.
