A Bay County family picked up the keys to a brand-new handicapped-equipped Honda Odyssey van after winning a national online contest.

Ken and Melissa Davert, of Bangor Township, were the highest vote-getters in the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association contest.

The couple will be trading in their two aging 1998, 130,000 mile-plus vans for the $80,000 25th Anniversary VMI Limited Edition Odyssey on Thursday.

The official vehicle unveiling was held Thursday at MobilityWorks of Saginaw, 8175 Gratiot, at 11:30 a.m.

Melissa and the couple's 13-year-old twins, Austin and Michaela, have osteogenesis imperfecta, a brittle bone condition. Ken has cerebral palsy.
