SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
Saginaw firefighters were called to the Budget Inn Motel on E. Genesee Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
The motel, at 1014 E. Genesee, was evacuated and no injuries have been reported.
The fire broke out around 4:15 p.m. and fire crews were able to knock the blaze down before too much damage was done. Witnesses said the fire started on the north end of the motel and TV5 has learned no one was staying in that wing of the building.
The motel was recently purchased by new owners as a foreclosure on July 3. Property records stretch back to 1979.
