Midland's 'Elder Beerman' store gets new nameplate

MIDLAND, MI (WNEM) -

Midland's Elder-Beerman store is being converted into a Younker's.

The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. today announced it will convert its Elder-Beerman nameplate in three markets in Michigan.  

Elder-Beerman stores in Coldwater, Midland and Jackson will be changed to its Younkers nameplate.    

Brendan Hoffman, President and CEO, commented, "We are making this strategic change in nameplates as a result of a marketing review. The usage of Younkers nameplate will allow us to communicate more effectively and provide us the opportunity to expand our outreach to more consumers. Our Elder-Beerman customers in these markets will find our commitment to provide excellent service, along with the best quality and value in national and private brand merchandise, remains as strong as ever."

The Bon-Ton Stores operates 272 department stores across the country under the Elder-Beerman, Herberger's, Younker's, Carson Pirie Scott and Bergner's name plates.
