SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
The Andersen Enrichment Center announced today a new exhibit from local artist Rosemary Brady Hayes. Her paintings feature the flora and fauna found throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.
The exhibit will remain on display through September 7. Exhibit hours are 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Rosemary lives in Birch Run and is inspired by the natural beauty of rural mid-Michigan and since 2005, has also enjoyed teaching art.
"I never thought of teaching art until a friend in Frankenmuth asked me to teach watercolor to members of the Frankenmuth Herb Society. I taught them to paint pictures of herbs and we made the paintings into note cards for a fundraiser. The experience was very fun and rewarding for everyone, but especially for me. I have learned that when I teach, whatever I give to my students, I receive back 10-fold," said Hayes.
This fall, Rosemary will be teaching watercolor, acrylic and drawing classes through the Delta College Community Education (ages 16 and above) and the Delta College 50+ Just Like Gold (ages 50 and above) programs.
She also teaches art through the Saginaw Township and the Birch Run Community Education programs.
