SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
The St. Mary's of Michigan Auxiliary Thrift Shop is moving, getting a new name and expanding its hours of operation. Before this can happen, the current location must close.
Thursday, Aug. 9 is the last day the thrift shop will operate at its current location of 401 Holden St. near St. Mary's of Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw.
To help expedite the move, the shop will offer 50 percent off on July 31, Aug. 2 and 7 at its current location.
On Tuesday, Oct. 9, the store will reopen at 427 Atwater in Saginaw under the name St. Mary's of Michigan Timeless Treasures Thrift Shop.
When the store reopens, the hours of operation will expand to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"When looking for a new location for the thrift shop, we wanted to make sure we stayed in the downtown area," said Susan Wachowiak, St. Mary's of Michigan Auxiliary president. "The Auxiliary is dedicated to helping the people in this area receive quality goods at a great price."
The thrift shop also offers a referral program through the St. Mary's Center of HOPE for those who need clothing, shoes and furniture, but may be down on their luck.
