FLINT, Mich. (AP) - The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation has awarded a package of grants totaling $3.8 million for Flint arts and cultural institutions.

The one-year, general operating grants announced this week go to institutions of the Flint Cultural Center.

They include about $1.5 million to support attractions including the Longway Planetarium, Sloan Museum and The Whiting; about $1.5 million for the Flint Institute of Arts; and about $740,000 for the Flint Institute of Music.

The Flint-based foundation's support of the cultural center has totaled $101 million since 1928.
