Hhhhmmm....ribs! Hhhhmmm....ribs!
BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

Nothing says summer better than saucy, fall-off-the-bone barbeque ribs! This weekend, the Labadie Pig Gig squeals into Veteran's Memorial Park in Bay City.

There will be several events at this year's festival. Thursday night, the Pig Gig kicked off with a biggest bubble gum bubble contest, a hot dog pig race and live music. Rib connoisseurs and amateur taste buds can also experience several different types of ribs. There are many different vendors cooking up their best recipes.

"We just want to win, we just want to come out and play, it's like David versus Goliath here!" laughed Greg Buzzard, owner of That Guy's Barbeque.

The best part of the Labadie Pig Gig is where proceeds go. Several local charities are big winners, including the Boys and Girls Club, Special Olympics and Santa House.

"It's great man, you know, you just come out here, you have a great time, you know, have a couple drinks, watch some music, good food, good people, gotta love Bay City," said Steve Wellman, who was at the Pig Gig Thursday night.

The Labadie Pig Gig has been going on for the last 20 years. To read more about this weekend's events, click here.
