Anthony Bennett's child abuse trial to start in November

BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

WNEM TV5 has more information on the upcoming trial of 20-year-old Anthony Bennett.

He's the man accused of abusing 4-year-old Carnel Chamberlain, who later turned up dead at his home on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation near Mount Pleasant.

The Bay City Times reports Bennett will go to trial in Federal court on child abuse charges on November 27 in Bay City.

It's important to note Bennett is not charged in Carnel's death. Bennett has up until 2 weeks before the trial to accept a plea deal.
