SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Mid-Michigan's primaries are right around the corner, and before you head out Tuesday to vote, here's a look at some of the key contests.

In Saginaw, it's a race for the county prosecutor. Incumbent Mike Thomas is facing a challenge from fellow Democrat attorney John McColgan.

Whoever wins the primary will take on Republican Matthew l. Frey in the November general election.

In Bay County, it's all about the sheriff's seat. Sheriff John Miller is facing retired deputy Robert "Bobby" Lee.

And in Genesee County, Sheriff Robert Pickell will face Argentine Township Police Chief Dan Allen and retired Flint Police Deputy Chief Tim Johnson.

Other candidates are hitting the streets as voters hit the polls tomorrow. Republican U.S. Senate candidate Pete Hoekstra will be in Mid-Michigan. He will be in Grand Blanc at noon tomorrow at The Hot Dog Stand on S. Saginaw. Hoekstra is running against Clark Durant, who will be in Grand Rapids during this time, for a chance to face off against Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow.
