MT. MORRIS, MI (WNEM) -

UPDATE: The Mt. Morris Police department received several tips that led them to pick up three Mt. Morris boys in connection to several buses that were vandalized on Sunday. The boys, all age 13, were arrested Tuesday night, questioned and then released to their parents.

Authorities said charges against the three are pending, and the Mt. Morris police chief said he doesn't expect them to be charged as adults.

Read the story below for more details on the damage done to the buses.

Mt. Morris city police are on the lookout to track down whoever is responsible for breaking into the school's bus garage and vandalizing several Mt. Morris school buses.

An officer on patrol early Sunday morning discovered the damage.

Seven of the busses had both front and sliding side windows smashed out, fire extinguishers discharged, graffiti written in marker, as well as flares and other equipment on board the busses thrown around the parking lot.

The mayhem will come at a high price.

"There's several thousand dollars of damage," said Mt. Morris City Police Chief Keith Becker. "We're reviewing video right now, taking some evidence to the crime lab and hopefully, maybe, they can lift some prints from the fire extinguisher that we recovered."

And while I was talking to the chief, the department got a call.

"The marker was recovered down the road. We'll take that too and see what we can get out of it," said Becker

The chief made it perfectly clear that whoever is responsible for the vandalism at the bus garage needs to be caught and held accountable.

"These disrespectful subjects need to be prosecuted and that's what I want to do," said Becker
