The top of the arrow is visible by the doe's left ear -- look for the orange fletchings.
SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -
Look closely at this photo to the right of your screen -- it appears this doe has an arrow through her neck!
WNEM TV5 viewer Michael Leaman posted the picture on our Facebook page. Leaman said he took the photo Monday in Saginaw Township.
Neighbors near where the photo was taken told Leaman the arrow's been stuck in her since last fall. The orange fletching on the arrow is visible just above the doe's head.
Leaman posted that the deer has a fawn now and "when she drinks, the neighbor told me, she bends down like a giraffe."
Leaman also said the neighbor saw the arrow wound was infected several months ago, but that thankfully it had cleared up.
At this point it's unknown if Saginaw County Animal Control or the Michigan Department of Natural Resources can do anything to alleviate the animal's suffering.
