Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas had surgery on his left knee Tuesday.
The team said the four-year veteran had surgery to "assist in his recovery from knee soreness he developed early in camp."
Delmas has not practiced in a week.
Delmas had 51 tackles last season and started all 11 games he appeared in.
He missed the final five games of the season after injuring the knee in a Thanksgiving loss to Green Bay.
