Flooding shuts down section of I-475 in Genesee Co.

Tough Questions: Why does I-475 flood all the time?

GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Early morning rain forced officials to close a section of I-475 in Genesee County on Friday.

Traffic in both directions was diverted just north of I-69. The roadway was impassable due to the flooding.

This is the third time this year the highway has been closed due to flooding. It has since reopened to traffic.
