Parking fines could rise in Saginaw - WNEM TV 5

Parking fines could rise in Saginaw

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

New parking violation fines were introduced to the Saginaw City Council Monday night.

The old fine for prohibited overnight parking (3 a.m. to 6 a.m.) was $15; it could go up to $25.

The old fine for overtime parking (more than two hours) was $10; it could go up to $15.

Late fees for paying tickets after ten days will also go up.

The higher fees may also mean more parking tickets will be written, since the money raised from the new fees will go to hire more people to write parking tickets.

These new fees aren't official yet, there will be a public hearing on them at the next city council meeting, then a vote.
