82-year-old killed in Tuscola County crash ID'd

TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Tuscola County Sheriff's deputies say an 82-year-old Mayville man was killed following a two-vehicle traffic crash on Tuesday.

Police identified the driver Thursday as Mitchell Janisz.

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the M-24 and Riley Road intersection in Indianfields Township.

Deputies say Janisz was driving northbound on M-24 when his vehicle was struck by a southbound vehicle attempting to turn onto Riley Road.

Janisz was transported to an area hospital, where he later died. The other driver, a 41-year-old Caro man named Warren Brown, received minor injurers and was treated at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
