SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
Saginaw County Sheriff Bill Federspiel is currently making an announcement at this time.
It's a proposal the sheriff put together on behalf of the city.
Leaders in Saginaw are looking for ways to save money and keep residents safe.
Federspiel said that under his plan, he could put 108 officers on the city streets, compared to the 86 that are currently on staff.
Federspiel began a news conference Friday in Birch Run at 10 a.m. and is defining the position of his department.
