Handguns, rifles stolen from area party store

SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Police are on the lookout for the people behind the theft of more than 30 weapons from a party store in Sanilac County's Greenleaf Township.

The Huron Daily Tribute reports that police were called out to Wild John's Party Store, off Van Dyke Road near Cass City Road, around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

When they arrived, they found the business had been broken into and more than 30 weapons were taken, including handguns, rifles, ammunition and cash. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said exactly 36 handguns, nine rifles and an unknown quantity of ammo was taken.

The party store sells gas, beer and wine, as well as guns.
