FENTON, MI (WNEM) -
Residents served by Fenton City Water north of the 800 block of North Leroy Street no longer need to boil their water.
Bacteriological testing has confirmed the water meets drinking water standards.
A 12-inch water main on North Leroy Street between Wass Street and North Road broke late Friday afternoon.
City crews worked through Friday night and had the pipe fixed and the water turned back on at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Unfortunately many water customers in this area experienced low pressure or possibly no pressure during this time, which required the city to issue a boil order and to perform additional flushing of the water mains and bacteriological testing.
