
The Great Lakes Loons lost for the fifth time in their last six games, dropping a 5-2 decision to the West Michigan White Caps on Monday.
Greg Wilborn (4-4, 4.54 ERA) took the loss for the Loons, throwing four innings, giving up five earned runs while walking five.
Brennan Smith (3-4, 3.45 ERA) was the pitching star for West Michigan, tossing four and two-thirds innings in relief, allowing no runs.
Great Lakes had 10 hits in the game, but could only plate two runs.
With the loss, the Loons fall to 24-32, last-place in the Midwest League's Eastern Division.
The teams wrap up the series in West Michigan on Tuesday with the first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Loons return home to Dow Diamond in Midland to start a three-game series against the Lansing Lugnuts on Wednesday.
Wednesday's game is a Detroit Red Wings Legend Series game with an appearance by Kris Draper.
