PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A former Arizona Diamondbacks broadcaster has been charged with aggravated drunk driving, according to Scottsdale police.

Police confirmed on Tuesday that Mark Grace was charged on Monday.

In late August, the  Diamondbacks announced that 48-year-old Grace was leaving just a day after he was arrested in Scottsdale.

The Diamondbacks said that the former major leaguer requested an indefinite leave of absence to seek personal assistance.

Scottsdale Police Department Sgt. Mark Clark said Grace was pulled over near 7200 E. McCormick Parkway for having an expired registration plate on his vehicle. Police said they gave him a field sobriety test and had probable cause to arrest him for DUI. He had a blood alcohol content of .095.

Clark said Grace was driving without his required interlock device and his license was suspended for a prior DUI in Scottsdale on May 30, 2011.
