FLINT, MI (WNEM) -
Residents packed City Council chambers Monday night. Some had pillows and blankets, saying they were in for the long haul.
They are outraged over the most recent actions of Emergency Financial Manager Ed Kurtz.
Earlier this month, City Council voted to hold a hearing to look into actions taken by Mike Brown during his final days in office.
On Friday, Kurtz banned council from using city resources and buildings to conduct their investigations.
So on Monday night, some residents planned a sit-down demonstration at City Hall to protest the move.
But over the weekend, Kurtz switched his position, at least on part of the ban, that allows council to use public buildings.
Despite the ban, City Council is moving forward with their investigation.
On Monday night they passed a resolution asking for hearings to take place on Sept. 10, their next council meeting.
