Man accused in beating to be sentenced

BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

A local man will be back in court Wednesday after carrying out a vicious baseball bat attack last summer.

Brandon Carbeno is to be sentenced Wednesday.

Carbeno hit Chene Swarthout with a baseball bat in a parking lot after a Styx concert in Bay City on June 25, 2011.

A jury found him guilty earlier this summer.

He could spend the next decade in prison.

The incident left Swarthout with a fractured skull and severe brain trauma and he continues to recover from his injuries.
