BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -
Saginaw residents attended a town hall meeting Thursday to discuss possible cuts that could be made to the city's police and fire departments.
City officials have been looking at ways to fill a projected budget gap of about $3 million.
Some options being considered are cross training the police and fire departments.
Also, outsourcing the police department to the Saginaw County Sheriff is on the table.
Residents who attended the forum said that whatever the city decides to do, the public should have a say.
Officials say there hasn't been a decision on those possible cuts to public safety, and there may not be one for a while.
