Michigan State Police troopers were called to a single-vehicle fatal accident Friday evening on Garfield Road in Bay County.
When troopers arrived at the scene, just north of Hitchkiss Road in Williams Township, they found a vehicle in a ditch.
Further investigation revealed the victim, 45-year-old Julie Bush, of Saginaw County, was driving on Garfield when her vehicle went off the west side of the roadway, struck two "curve" signs, entered the roadside ditch and collided into the north side of a private driveway embankment and culvert.
Authorities said the crash remains under investigation and they said they hope autopsy results will help determine why Bush drove off the west side of the road.
