Protests planned after cop guns down family pet

Posted: Updated:
ST. LOUIS, MI (WNEM) -

A growing number of people are outraged with a local police officer who shot and killed a family pet.

The owner of the beloved golden retriever named "Scout" has mounted a sign displaying his anger, and now more and more residents are standing behind him by planning a huge protest.

Residents will hold an "all day protest" at the St. Louis Town Hall on Wednesday morning starting at 9 a.m. That's right next to the St. Louis Police Department, which is where the officer that killed the dog works from.

Scout's owner has already made a billboard that states "R.I.P. Scout - St. Louis PD murdered our Golden Retriever."

So how are officials going to stop the rising tension? TV5 took The Tough Questions to St. Louis and asked locals about the story -- click on the video above for more.
