SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Crews from Saginaw's fire department were called to an early morning house fire in Saginaw.

Officials from the fire department tell TV5 a house on North 8th Street was set on fire at around 1:20 a.m. Thursday. Authorities said then the flames spread to a neighboring home.

The home at 1019 N. 8th is where the fire started and it is owned by the Saginaw County Land Bank. The home the blaze spread to, 1015, is owned by a private company.

Both homes were single-story and vacant, and have been ordered to be demolished immediately.

Fire investigators tell TV5 that the original fire was deliberately set. No injuries were reported and crews were at the scene for about an hour-and-a-half.
