FLINT, MI (WNEM) -
Flint's Atwood Stadium turned into a boxing ring Saturday morning. Kids gathered to get boxing tips from the best of the best, Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields.
Organizers hope the youth boxing clinic can become an annual event. Kids received T-shirts and lunch, plus it was absolutely free.
Shields wants to give back and inspire kids to reach their goals.
"I think I set a pretty good example, I love to do that," said Shields.
Claressa is a senior at Northwestern High School. She says the challenge this year will be juggling homework, practice and appearances. The gold medalist said she is determined to get good grades and go to college.
