Saginaw Spirit open regular season Friday

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The Saginaw Spirit will open their 2012-13 OHL regular season Friday in Guelph against the Storm.

The Spirit are coming off a 2011-12 season in which they finished 33-27-1-7 (74) and advanced to the second round of the OHL playoffs.

Saginaw lost to the London Knights, the eventual J. Ross Robertson trophy winners, in the second round of the playoffs four games to two.

The Spirit will play the first two games of the season on the road, Friday in Guelph and Saturday in Owen Sound.

Saginaw will host their home opener on Thursday, Sept. 27 against Sudbury at 7:11 p.m.
