Classes back in session after gas leak

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Students at Saginaw's Arthur Hill High School were first told Wednesday morning that classes were canceled due to a gas leak, only to find out later that school administrators reversed the decision and chose to have class.

The gas leak happened early this morning after school officials noticed the leak and contacted Consumers Energy. Consumers said it would take two hours to have a crew there to check on the situation. That's when school officials decided to cancel class.

About 10 minutes after Consumers said it would take two hours to check out the leak, a crew showed up and told the school the leak wasn't threatening. It was then that school officials chose to have class after all.

TV5 has since learned that parents were not pleased about the reversal. We'll have much more on this story coming up tonight on TV5 News beginning at 5 p.m.
