BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
The man accused of assaulting a 4-year-old boy is facing new charges.
Anthony Bennett is accused of attacking a corrections officer in Bay County.
Guards said that Bennett was arguing with another inmate and when he was being escorted back to his cell, he attacked the guard.
Bennett was arrested in June on a charge of assaulting 4-year-old Carnel Chamberlain, who's charred remains were found a week after he went missing.
Bennett is not facing any charges in connection to Carnel's death.
