BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A worker with a tree trimming company was electrocuted Sunday morning in Bay County. Deputies with the Bay County Sheriff's Department said his equipment touched a live wire.

Deputies said the man is in his 40s. He was conscious when police and an ambulance arrived at the scene. Medics transported the man the Bay Region Medical Center, then they airlifted him to Hurley Hospital.

The incident happened near Michigan Avenue and Paradise Court in Portsmouth Township.

Sheriff's Deputies said the man was tied to a tree when he hit the wire, leaving him stuck in the tree. They said one of his fellow workers used a bucket truck to rescue the man after the accident.

Officials have not released any other details about the man's condition.
