BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -
There's a new ordinance that will soon go into effect that will allow police to break up parties in one local community.
The Bay City Commission voted to change an ordinance, giving police more power to break up loud parties attended by minors who may be drinking alcohol.
Police said the previous ordinance only allowed them to break up parties if they spilled over onto a neighbor's lot.
The changes will go into effect Thursday.
