NEW YORK (AP) -
The real referees could soon be back on NFL fields after a tentative deal was reached Wednesday night.
An agreement between the league and officials union ended an impasse that started in June when the league locked out the official and used replacements instead.
The replacements worked the first three games, triggering a wave of frustration that threatened to disrupt the rest of the season.
After Monday's controversial call between Seattle and Green Bay, the two sides got serious.
Some of the NFL's regular referees will be back to work Thursday when Cleveland plays Baltimore.
