SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
Preparations are underway for tomorrow's big day in Vassar as a local soldier will return home to a hero's welcome.
It's the first time the community has had a chance to honor U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills.
Mills, his wife Kelsey and daughter Chloe will serve as grand marshals of the Vassar High School homecoming parade Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A block party will be held Friday at 4 p.m. near the football field followed by the football game between Vassar and Unionville-Sebawaing.
