Crash on Davenport Ave. in Saginaw Twp. kills 1

SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Police were called to the scene of a crash at Davenport Avenue and Vera Street in Saginaw Township.

Now one person, a passenger in the car, is dead and the driver has been charged in connection to her death.

Authorities said the driver, 34-year-old Tashundra Crafton, was traveling down Davenport around 4 a.m. when she lost control of her car and hit a tree.

Rescue crews had to work to free the passenger, who was trapped inside the car. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

TV5 has since learned that the passenger, 26-year-old Christina Patman, died following the crash. The driver, Crafton, was arrested in connection to the crash. TV5 is told Crafton was driving on a suspended, revoked or denied license.

Police said alcohol may also have played a factor in the crash.
